My name is Ian Magalhães
A passionate professional in Game Design, Production, and UI/UX. From an early age, I created and managed game servers, developing daily content and leading teams. My journey led me to work with indie studios and collaborate with well-known publishers. Currently, I am the co-founder of NOX Studios, where I manage projects and teams to create engaging experiences. I am looking for challenges that allow me to grow professionally, contribute creatively, and advance in the gaming industry, especially in the AAA market.

“The Elemental: Stone Age” is an action-adventure game set in the Aldrigard Forest, where players take on the role of Gaia, the guardian of nature. Gaia must protect the forest from the dark threat of Morgrath, an evil sorcerer. The game combines platform, metroidvania and puzzle-solving elements, offering an immersive experience.

Boubble Trouble is a 2D platformer with puzzles and movement gimmicks.The player controls a slime that can summon 4 types of bubbles that grant him mobility in the scenario to reach the objective, but be careful, the number of bubbles is limited.

“Racket Heroes” is a multiplayer action and competition game that mixes classic Pong elements with special abilities and obstacles inspired by strategy and combat games. Players choose unique heroes, each with their own special abilities, and compete on themed fields to score points by hitting a ball with their paddles. The game combines the simplicity and fun of Pong with the strategic depth of hero battle games.

Captain's Dream is an action-adventure game with elements of exploration and naval combat. The player takes on the role of a pirate sailing to a mysterious island, rebuilding his fleet and discovering secrets of the sea. The game combines exploration, combat and progression mechanics, with three main game modes: on foot, in a boat and on foot in a boat.

NOX Studios is a company I founded with the goal of bringing the game ideas from my imagination to life. In 2024, the company was awarded a grant from the Paulo Gustavo Law for game prototypes, giving us the opportunity to create our prototype The Elemental: Stone Age, an action-adventure Metroidvania game. I am actively involved in the production, and the experience of leading a team of 10 people has made me a true leader.

I worked with the Game Design team to create various interfaces that helped players understand the game's proposal and gameplay. The project was extremely complex, involving card game mechanics. Additionally, I used my English skills to communicate with the publisher, which had a dedicated team for UI/UX and accessibility. I became one of the main employees communicating with the publisher due to my fluency in English. Unfortunately, due to an NDA, I can't disclose much about the project, but it was an incredible experience that significantly enhanced my professional growth

This family business is where I began working at a young age. The company provides services to audiovisual giants like Globo Group, TV Record, SBT, the national cinema, and theater industry. Here, I learned how to manage clients, optimize material purchasing systems, create my first company logos, develop websites, manage NDA contracts, and organize teams. I was responsible for all image and art creation for sublimation and digital media. This company was the foundation of the professional I am today.

On the Minecraft RPG server Infernalia, I was responsible for creating the entire world's history, creating missions, characters and narratives, as well as economic balancing and player skill progression.

LSRP was a GTA 5 Roleplay server project where I was the lead UI/UX designer and Game Design. This project helped me find my passion for UI/UX Design, and I decided to specialize in this field, learning how to manage tasks with tools like Trello, Jira, and ClickUP. As Game Designer i developed some economy tricks to balance the gameplay.

VRP was also a GTA 5 Roleplay server project where I was the lead UI/UX designer. This was my first contract in this area, and I assisted the design team throughout the project.
